Run Local Team Training Program

Run Local Team Training Program registration is OPEN!  Moriarty PT is sponsoring the Second Run Local Team Training Program with the Health and Wellness Committee of the Dutchess Regional Chamber of Commerce.  This program is a Learn to Run program designed for individuals who wish to start running in a safe environment surrounded by healthcare professionals who can help them each and every step of the way!  Last years Run Local Team Training Program was a tremendous success, with over 80 new and seasoned runners entering the program!

Run local Team

The Run Local Team Training Program is an 8-week program  that will meet on the Hudson Valley Railtrail behind Moriarty Physical Therapy on Tuesdays starting April 19 and finishing in time for the Walkway Over the Hudson’s Walkway Marathon’s 5K on June 12.

On Thursday,  April 14, from 6pm – 7pm, all participants will gather for the Program Orientation, which is being held at the Poughkeepsie Day School.  During the Orientation, runners will meet his or her Team Captain, receive a program packet, t-shirt, and water bottle. While this is not an active session, we will provide advice and review running tips, covering essential information regarding nutrition, hydration, running form and running shoes.

The following sessions will be every Tuesday starting April 19 from 6pm – 7pm at the Rail Trail behind Moriarty Physical Therapy.  Runners can utilize the parking at Moriarty PT.  Runners who participate will be signing up for and running in the Sunday, June 12 Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club “Treetops to Rooftops 5K.” Please note that the 5K entrance fee is not included in the program cost.

This program is limited to 80 participants; only those who have registered can participate in the Run Local Team Training Program – no exceptions!

Registration for the Run Local Team Training Program can be found here.

Schedule a FREE 15-minute Exploration Visit

Come visit one of our physical therapy clinics in New York or North Carolina and one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy will do a 15-minute consultation to see if physical therapy is right for you. In the consultation, we’ll help determine the source of pain and movement restrictions to see if you would benefit from physical therapy or might need the assistance of another healthcare professional. If so, we’ll make a referral and help speed up achieving your health goal.

You have nothing to lose; the screening is free! And if physical therapy could help you, we can perform the examination right then–even without a prescription–with Direct Access (covered by insurance).
