Katie Virgin was born and raised in the Midwest, specifically about 30 minutes north of Indianapolis. Her passion for physical therapy began in high school after going through PT treatments in order to return to playing soccer. She always knew she wanted to pursue something in the medical field but wasn’t exactly sure until she saw the difference that PT made in her own life as she recovered from foot surgery.
A love for the profession continued to grow as she received more exposure to the different areas of physical therapy. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Pre-Physical Therapy from The University of Dayton, Katie continued her higher education with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Indiana State University.
Clinical experience and interests include neuromuscular and orthopedic rehabilitation, as well as pediatrics. She enjoys treating a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: low back pain, frozen shoulder, ACL repair, balance deficits and pediatric coordination/developmental delays.
Outside of the clinic, Katie enjoys the great outdoors, especially long walks, and hiking with her adorable 2-year-old pup, Oakley. Oakley won’t tell you he is spoiled, but he holds the key to Katie’s heart. A love of sports, including flag football and soccer, plays a big part in Katie’s life. She is also a die-hard Packers and Colts fan. Trying new Triangle restaurants with friends gives Katie the perfect opportunity to get to know the area and all the wonderful things that North Carolina has to offer.
